Brantford Bulldogs News Release
The Hamilton Bulldogs snapped a 3 game losing skid with a 3-2 shootout victory over the Flint Firebirds Saturday night. Trent Fox (5) opened up the scoring early in the first period by banking the puck in off of a Flint defenseman and past goaltender Connor Hicks. Michael Cramarossa and Mackenzie Entwistle picked up the assists. The Bulldogs upped their lead to 2-0 thanks to Luke Kutkevicius (2) who made a nice move down low and backhanded one home. Adam Laishram and Cole Candella had the helpers. Flint would get on the board on the power-play with 4.7 seconds left in the first as Ancaster native Nicholas Caamano (12) scored to cut Hamilton's lead to 2-1 after twenty minutes. There was no scoring in the second as the Bulldogs took their 2-1 into the third. That's despite plenty of pressure from Flint as they outshot the Bulldogs 8-5, but Kaden Fulcher stood tall and didn't allow a goal in the frame. Firebirds forward Jacob Collins (1) scored the only goal of the 3rd period to tie the game 2-2 sending it into overtime. Hamilton's Matthew Strome and Will Bitten had the best chances in OT, but the game went to a shoot-out. The Bulldogs won it after Strome and Michael Cramarossa both scored while Kaden Fulcher shut the door on Flint shooters Ryan Moore and Jalen Smereck. The Bulldogs record improves to 13-9-3-0 with their home record now 5-3-3 at FirstOntario Centre. The Bulldogs are now 1-1 on their seven game home stand as they host the Sudbury Wolves on Wednesday night at 7 pm.
