
Dogs at Redwolves Postponed

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Thursday night's contest between the Fayetteville SwampDogs and the Florence RedWolves was postponed due to inclement weather, and will be played as part of a doubleheader at "The Swamp" on Monday, July 16th.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in Florence, but the Dogs do not return there before the conclusion of the season. Per league rules, the game will be made up as part of a doubleheader during the RedWolves' visit to Fayetteville next Monday night.
The next SwampDogs' home game is on Friday, July 13th, where it's Freaky Friday at "The Swamp." It's salute to the Trunk or Treat at "The Swamp" in July, as fans should come dressed in costume to participate in a costume contest. The first 500 fans, 21 and older, will receive a pilsner glass courtesy of Healy Wholesale and Fat Tire! The Sharks and Dogs will play a doubleheader, gates open at 5:00pm, first pitch scheduled for 6:05pm.

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 16th season in 2012, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,000 alumni drafted and 52 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
