GREENVILLE _ Jeremy Dodson's ninth-inning double lifted the Tennessee Smokies to a 4-2 Southern League victory over the Greenville Braves Sunday afternoon.

Dodson, a right fielder who stifled one Greenville threat by throwing out a potential run at home plate, lined a Kevin Barry pitch off the right-field wall to put the Smokies (10-7) ahead for good. John Nelson's infield single pushed across the second run of the inning, helping the Smokies raise their road record to 7-4.

The two-run ninth made a winner of Kevin Sprague (1-1). Mike Lyons pitched a perfect ninth _ striking out three batters _ to earn his league-leading seventh save.

Greenville (8-8) had taken a 2-1 lead in the seventh inning on Cory Aldridge's first home run of the season. Tennessee tied the game in the eighth, when Nelson singled, moved to second on a bunt by Caonabo Cosme, moved to third on a passed ball, and scored on a sacrifice fly by Dennis Abreu.

The Smokies took a 1-0 lead in the seventh inning on consecutive singles by Bucky Jacobsen and Dodson and a sacrifice fly by Chris Weekly.

Scott Krause collected three hits for the Smokies, who were limited to three hits in Saturday night's loss to Greenville. Nelson and Dodson each had two hits.

Ryan Langerhans, Richard Lewis, and Adam LaRoche all had two hits for Greenville The G-Braves, 8-1 when scoring first, are 0-7 when the opponent has scored first.

The teams conclude the series with a 7:15 p.m. game Monday, when Adam Wainwright (0-1) is scheduled to start for Greenville against Tennessee's Dan Haren (2-0).
