
Dodgers Even Series with 5-2 Win

Oklahoma City - Travis Taijeron and Kyle Garlick each homered to help send the Oklahoma City Dodgers to a 5-2 win against the Omaha Storm Chasers Wednesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.
The win evened the three-game series between the American Northern Division teams and snapped a stretch of four straight victories by the Storm Chasers against Oklahoma City.
The Dodgers (67-59) took the game's first lead in the second inning. Will Smith singled with two outs before Taijeron homered out to left field on a two-run shot to put the Dodgers in front, 2-0. The home run was Taijeron's 10th of the season.
Omaha's Humberto Arteaga connected on a RBI single in the fifth inning to cut the Dodgers' lead to 2-1. Arteaga's solo homer out to left field in the top of the seventh inning then knotted the game, 2-2.
The Dodgers added two more runs when Rocky Gale hit a grounder that got past Omaha shortstop Nicky Lopez. Lopez was charged with a fielding error on the play as the ball went into left field allowing two runs to score for a 4-2 Dodgers lead.
Garlick's solo homer in the eighth inning extended the Dodgers' lead to 5-2. The homer was Garlick's team-leading 17th of the season and marked the Dodgers' seventh homer over the last six games.
Omaha starting pitcher Jake Kalish (6-6) was charged with the loss, allowing three runs and three hits over six innings.
Dodgers starting pitcher Brock Stewart allowed one run and three hits over five innings with one walk and one strikeout, but did not factor into the decision.
Reliever Joe Broussard (5-4) was credited with the win and a blown save, allowing one run on two hits over one inning. Brian Schlitter tossed a scoreless ninth inning to secure his 17th save of the season.
The Storm Chasers fell to 59-68 on the season with the loss as they outhit the Dodgers, 7-5.
The three-game series between Oklahoma City and Omaha concludes at 7:05 p.m. on a $2 Thursday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, featuring $2 Pepsi products, bottled water and select beer.
