
DockHounds Swept by Goldeyes

WINNIPEG, MB. - The Winnipeg Goldeyes swept the Lake Country DockHounds with a 10-3 victory Sunday afternoon.
Back-to-back singles by Gio Brusa and Jake Snider put two on base in the second inning for the DockHounds. After Wilfredo Gimenez grounded into a double play, Tristen Carranza legged out a single to score Brusa.
In the bottom of the third, back-to-back doubles score three for the Goldeyes. Raul Navarro scored when Max Murphy singled to center field. The score was then 4-1 Winnipeg.
Kevin Lachance doubled and scored one run in the bottom of the fourth. Following suit was another RBI single by Murphy.
In the sixth, Gio Brusa drew a one-out walk and advanced to second base on a wild pitch for Lake Country. Gimenez drove in Brusa with a single to left field, trimming the lead to 7-2, with the Goldeyes leading.
One more run scored following the seventh inning stretch for Winnipeg, and they added on with two runs in the eighth frame.
In the top of the ninth, Jordan Schaffer scored Jordan Garr with a two-out double. It would end all scores with the Goldeyes taking the series sweep, 10-3 in the contest.
Landen Bourassa earned the victory, while Evan Kruczynski took the losing decision as the starting pitcher.
The DockHounds will begin a 9-game homestand on Tuesday, August 2nd against the Chicago Dogs. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m. Broadcaster Sam Matheny will be on the call, live from Wisconsin Brewing Company Park.
