Abbotsford Heat News Release

Omaha, NE - The Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will not stray from the Western Conference during their second season in the American Hockey League. The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will face twelve different opponents during the 2006-07 season, their second in the American Hockey League. All of them will hail from the league's Western Conference.

Once again this season, the Ak-Sar-Ben Knights' schedule is strong on divisional rivalries. The Knights will play members of their own division, the West, a total of 62 times. They will face their closest geographical rival, the Iowa Stars, twelve times (six home/six road), the most of any opponent. They will play the Chicago Wolves, the Houston Aeros, the Milwaukee Admirals, the Peoria Rivermen and the San Antonio Rampage ten times (five home/five road) each. The Knights were 24-24-3-9 against their own division in 2005-06.

The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights also will face all six teams in the North Division of the Western Conference. That includes a pair of games with the Syracuse Crunch, the only new team on the Knights' schedule. The Knights did not face the top development team of the Columbus Blue Jackets during their inaugural season. The Ak-Sar-Ben Knights also will play two games (one home/one road) against the Rochester Americans and the Toronto Marlies and four games (two home/two road) each against the Grand Rapids Griffins, the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Manitoba Moose. The Knights were 10-6-0-2 against the North Division last year.

The Knights' schedule with individual dates and times of all 80 regular season games will be released in early August.

Season tickets and 22-Game Mini Plans for the 2006-2007 season are on sale now. Season tickets start as low as $10 per seat per game. For more information on pricing and benefits, visit the Knights' office at the Omaha Civic Auditorium or call (402) 344-4625.
