Indiana Ice News Release

WEEKEND RE-CAP: Indiana headed to Nebraska looking to continue where they left off with last Sunday's 9-1 road victory over the Chicago Steel. Unfortunately for Indiana, the Tri-City Storm had plans of their own as the Storm swept Indiana in a two-game weekend series, defeating the Ice 7-2 on Friday night before narrowly escaping with a 4-3 win on Saturday....3/30 at Tri-City Indiana came out flat on Friday night as Tri-City surged ahead to a 5-0 lead midway through the second stanza. Eric Miller scored twice, but it wouldn't be enough as Tri-City added two more tallies to secure the win.....3/31 at Tri-City Saturday night showed a more determined Indiana squad as the Ice battled back from one-goal deficits twice through the first forty minutes of play on goals from Mike Del Mauro and Garrett Roe to tie the affair at 2-2. However, a strong Storm third period sunk the Ice as Tri-City struck for two goals and a 4-2 advantage. Miller scored his third goal of the weekend with just minutes to play, but Tri-City shut down the Ice from there.

KEMPER TIME: Forward John Kemp continued his stellar stretch over the weekend with a three-point

weekend (G, 2A) as the second-year USHL'er extended his current point streak to eight games, breaking his previous season high of seven games from earlier this season. Todd McIlrath's 11-game stretch in 2004-05 is the Ice all-time best. Kemp is also riding his second seven-game assist streak of the season, the longest such streak in Ice all-time history.

THIRD TIME'S A CHARM: Eric Miller has emerged as a scoring threat in his third stint with the Indiana Ice as the forward has exploded over the last eight days for six goals in three games including a hat trick in last Sunday's 9-1 shelling of Chicago. After spending two short stints in 2004-05 and 2005-06 with the Ice, Miller has made his presence felt in the 2006-07 campaign as he has recorded 18 points (11G, 7A) in 27 games this year with the club.

MILESTONE MAKERS: Garrett Roe scored the 50th goal of his career in Saturday's 4-3 loss, becoming the first Ice player to reach the 50-goal mark....Roe also appeared in his 150th career game, an all-time Ice record....John Kemp and Nick Bailen made their 100th career appearance in an Ice uniform Saturday against Tri-City.

ICE NOTES: Garrett Roe has eight points (3G, 5A) in his last six games...Greg Squires has seven points (3G, 4A) in his last five games....Eddie Levens has four points (G, 3A) in his last three games....Both Roe and Kemp have each recorded 60 points this season, breaking the all-time single scoring record of 55 points set by Kemp last season....With 12 power play goals apiece, Roe and Jake Skjodt have tied an all-time Ice season-high set by Eddie Del Grosso last year.
