Division II College Baseball Classic Returns to Fleming

Wilson, N.C. - The Wilson Tobs are proud to announce the schedule for their (3) Division II College Classics to be held at Historic Fleming Stadium beginning from Friday February 25th to Saturday March 12th, 2022.

"We are beyond excited and relieved to bring back multiple College Classics to Historic Fleming Stadium after a COVID riddled 2020 and 2021. The schools attending could not be more ready to make the trip back down south to our facility. By continuing to bring baseball to the Wilson area year-round, we are providing everyone with consistent entertainment throughout the year, steady business to the local Wilson community, and a warmer destination for these northern college programs," said Tobs General Manager Mike Bell.

The Classics will feature (10) Division II schools. Eight schools are making the trip back to Wilson from years past: Barton College, Chowan University, Mid-Atlantic Christian University, Bloomsburg University, Fairmont State University, California University of PA, Alderson Broaddus University, and College of Saint Rose. This year will feature (2) newcomers to Historic Fleming Stadium: Frostburg State University and Wilmington University.

The Wilson Tobs home opener and Band Jam featuring Matty Begs will be Thursday May 26th, followed by the memorial weekend Firework Extravaganza on Sunday May 29th, 2022. The final (2) Firework Extravaganzas of the season will be Saturday, July 2nd, and Saturday July 30th (last regular season home game). The Wilson Tobs enter their 26th season as a founding member of the Coastal Plain League. The upcoming season for the Tobs will see an expanded community outreach effort, increased participation in helping the less fortunate, a Pettit Cup Championship team, and more exciting entertainment for the Wilson Community. We would like to dedicate each successful season to the Wilson Community, Coastal Plain League Organization, Host Families, Corporate Partners, and the Dedicated Fans throughout the city of Wilson. The Wilson Tobs have played host to over 100 alumni taken in the draft and have produced a dozen players who have gone on to play in the MLB, including Cy Young & MVP winner Justin Verlander.
