
Dipace fires the hat trick in Generals 9-2 drubbing of Kansas City

FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League took command mid-way through the first period Friday night, and never looked back in a 9-2 pounding over the Kansas City Outlaws in front of 2,415 at Perani's Arena.
Center John DiPace recorded the three-goal hat trick while right wing, Tom Ditzer scored twice to pace the Generals attack. Flint scored three times in each period and turned in their highest goal output this season. Flint goaltender Nathan Grobins earned his third victory since coming to the Generals.
Flint (32-29-11, 75 pts.) is still battling Quad City for the eighth and final playoff spot. The Mallards were leading the visiting Missouri River Otters 5-0 late in the second period upon the conclusion of the Generals' game.
Kansas City (26-39-6, 58 pts.) travels to Quad City to face the Mallards tomorrow night. Flint returns home to host the Port Huron Beacons at Perani's Arena beginning at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are on sale at any TicketMaster location.
