BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today the Miss Utility Diamond Dig at Prince George's Stadium Sunday Aug. 14, after the Baysox take on the New Britain Rock Cats in a doubleheader beginning at 4:05 p.m. One lucky fan will unearth a vacation package worth $1,500, courtesy of Liberty Travel in Bowie.

Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye looks forward to the event. "The Diamond Dig has been one of our most popular events over the last few years," Wrye said. "In the past, our fans have won diamond rings and a new TV, and we think they will be very excited to win a vacation package. We look forward to working with Miss Utility to continue bringing exciting new prizes for future Diamond Digs."

The team will bury a small container somewhere in the infield dirt before the games, and 50 fans will be selected to try to dig it up after the games. Contestants will be selected through local radio contests before the event and at the stadium during the game. Contestants must be at least 18 years old to participate, and the fan who digs up the container wins the vacation package and assumes responsibility for all applicable taxes and fees.
