Chesapeake Baysox News Release

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox are proud to announce today the fifth annual Autism Awareness Night at Prince George's Stadium Friday, Sept. 2, as the team takes on the Erie SeaWolves at 7:05 p.m. The event features a donation of proceeds from each preordered ticket or suite, pregame ceremonies to honor members of the Autism community, informational tables on the stadium concourse and a temporary quiet room where families can take a short break from the bustle of the stadium.

Baysox Office Manager Kate Milstead is coordinating this year's event. "One of the most important things we at the Baysox can do for our community is give back," Milstead said. "Autism Awareness Night allows us to do that while highlighting a great cause and some wonderful people. We are absolutely honored to have the opportunity to partner with the MD/DC-Metro Autism community for this event."

The Baysox will donate $3 of every preordered ticket purchased and $100 or $200 of every suite booked back to Autism organizations. In order to generate the donation, fans must preorder tickets through Millstead by calling (301) 805-6000. On the night of the event, Box Office walk-up windows are able to add $1 donations to individual tickets, which will later be pooled and split between the Baysox's nine beneficiary partners.

The Baysox partners for the fifth Annual Autism Awareness Night include;

Autism Speaks

ARC of the Central Chesapeake Region

ARC of Prince George's County

Pathfinders for Autism

One World Center for Autism

Howard County Autism Society

Johns Hopkins EARLI Autism Pregnancy Study
