Diamonddawgs Drop Another

July 8, 2011 - Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League (PGCBL)
Mohawk Valley DiamondDawgs News Release

The Mohawk Valley Diamonddawgs lost their second game in a row to the Newark Pilots in front of a crowd of 832 at home at Veterans Memorial Park in Little Falls.

Newark winning pitcher, Carson Beauchaine, tossed a complete game, seven-hitter striking out 11.

Newark was led by Jacob Starnes who went 4 for 5 with 3 singles and a triple. Luke Swenson and Kyle Attl had three hits apiece, with Attle driving a 2-run home run to cap off a day in which he had 4 RBI. Ray Delvalle and Michael Bolling pitched in two hits each.

Lead-off man George Hajar had two hits for the DiamondDawgs, and leftfielder Michael Gunn smashed a monstrous home run to the top railing of the right-centerfield stands in the bottom of the 7th. Tyler Townsend added two singles for Little Falls.

Dustin Stanton only gave up three earned runs, but due to sloppy play by the DiamondDawgs and their 7 errors throughout the game, he was charged with his fifth loss of the season.

The DiamondDawgs return home for a doubleheader against the Albany Dutchmen on Saturday, July 9, 2011. The first game will begin at 5:05pm with the second game starting 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first.
