HARLINGEN - The Rio Grande Valley White Wings professional baseball team has announced that tryouts for the 2006 Diamond Dolls promotional/dance team will be held Saturday, April 29, at 12:30 p.m. at McMillan School of Dance, 888 Morgan Blvd., in Harlingen.

The White Wings are looking for talented young ladies, ages 18 and over, to be a part of our official promotion and dance team, the Diamond Dolls. Diamond Dolls will assist with between innings activities, interact with fans during games, perform dance routines and act as goodwill ambassadors for the team and area communities.

A select number of Diamond Dolls will perform at each home game this season, in addition to appearing at various community functions on behalf of the team. Those interested in trying out should be at McMillan's by 12:30 p.m. April 29. All young ladies are asked to bring proof of age. A recent photo is also helpful. Previous dance experience is preferred but not necessary. Please bring a two-piece dance outfit, along with dance shoes or sneakers to the tryouts.

For more information, contact Marlena Soultaire at diamond_dolls_06@hotmail.com. Or contact the White Wings main office at 412-9464. Due to space limitations, auditions will be held in private.

The White Wings will play 45 home games in 2006 as part of their 90-game schedule. The first home game will be the season opener, May 16 at 7:05 p.m. against the Edinburg Coyotes.
