
Diamond Dig Turns out Golden

San Angelo, Texas --- Dozens of women took to the infield of Foster Field Tuesday night in search of a one-plus karat total weight diamond necklace for the seventh annual Diamond Dig, sponsored by Legend Jewelers. Approximately 30 minutes into the dig, Cathryn Golden of San Angelo found the necklace near first base.
Legend Jewelers provided the necklace, and it was buried late Monday night following the Colts' 8-6 win over the Fort Worth Cats. Always one of the most popular events at Foster Field, the Diamond Dig drew a crowd of 3,403.
In addition to Tuesday night being the Legend Jewelers Diamond Dig, it was also the Chamber of Commerce Night and a $2 Tuesday, sponsored by Budweiser.
The Colts are off today, but they continue their four-game series with Fort Worth continues Thursday. It will be another $1 Beer Night, sponsored by Miller Lite. The Tyler Lenius Band will play in the beer garden following the game. Gates open at 6:05 p.m., and first pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Colts are a member of United League Baseball who are in their 13th season. Tickets are on sale now, and available at the Colts' front office at Foster Field.
