Shreveport-Bossier Captains News Release
El Paso broke open a 1-0 game in the sixth inning as the Diablos scored ten runs in the final four innings to defeat Shreveport 11-4 at Fair Grounds Field Wednesday.
With the victory, El Paso took the three-game series two games to one as the Sports fell to 3-6 in the second half of the season. The Diablos had taken a 1-0 lead in the first inning when Albenis Machado doubled and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jorge Alvarez.
The Sports let a golden scoring opportunity slip by in the third with the bases loaded and one out, but Justin Humphries hit into a double play to end the threat. El Paso scored two runs in the sixth, three runs in the seventh and eighth and added two more in the ninth to win their fifth game of the second half. The Sports will open up a four-game series Thursday at Fair Grounds Field against St. Paul. Game time will be 7:05 with the broadcast on AM 1130, KWKH.
