Albany Devils News Release

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rob Davison's power play goal at 8:10 of the third period put the Lowell Devils ahead for a 2-1 win over the Providence Bruins on Sunday night at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The Devils have won three of their last four and remain tied for second place in the Atlantic Division heading into the holiday break.

With the match knotted, 1-1, in the third period, Lowell took the lead for good with its third man-advantage of the game. Nick Palmieri worked the puck up to far-side blueline for Davison who pounded a slapshot past Dany Sabourin. The marker was Davison's third of the year, all which have been game-winners.

The Devils got on the board first as Ben Walter set himself in the high slot to knock Olivier Magnan's wrister down under Sabourin at 7:23 of the opening period.

Levi Nelson picked up his first of the season and tied the score at 4:44 of the second when he cut through the middle of the zone before sending the puck over a sprawled-out Jeff Frazee. That would be the only shot to get past Frazee, who made 30 saves for his sixth win of the year.

The Devils return after the holiday break to once again battle the Bruins on Saturday December 26 at 7:00PM.
