
Devils Sign Forward John Quenneville

Newark, NJ - The New Jersey Devils today signed forward John Quenneville to a three- year entry-level contract. The announcement was made by Devils' General Manager Ray Shero.
Quenneville, 19, posted 17g-30a-47pts in 57 games during his third season with Brandon (WHL) in 2014-15. He added 10g-9a-19pts in 19 playoff contests as the Wheat Kings reached the WHL Finals. Quenneville was named the league's Player of the Week for the period ending April 26 after posting 2g-3a-5pts in game one of the Eastern Conference Championship Series vs. Calgary on April 24. He also scored the double overtime/series- clinching goal in game five of the Conference Quarterfinals at Edmonton on April 1. In 2013-14, the 6-1, 200-lb. center finished third on the club with 25 goals and ranked fourth with 58 points in 61 contests. He added a team-leading 5g-8a-13pts in nine post-season games, including 3g-6a-9pts in the club's first-round sweep of Regina. In three WHL seasons, Quenneville has totaled 50g-74a-124pts and 148 penalty minutes in 165 regular season appearances, as well as 15g-17a-32pts and 28 PIM in 28 playoff matches.
Born April 16, 1996 in Edmonton, Alberta, he was a member of Team Canada's Bronze Medal-winning team at the 2014 Under-18 World Championship and the Silver Medal- winning Team Pacific at the 2013 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge. Quenneville also won Gold with Team Alberta at the 2011 Western Canada Under-16 Challenge Cup, registering three assists in a 10-4 win over Manitoba in the Gold Medal game.
Quenneville was New Jersey's first choice and the 30th overall selection of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
