Oneonta New York, June 19th, The Long Island Rough Riders U-11 Boys Developmental squad captured the Schwan's Cup this weekend with comprehensive wins over a host of Premier Division sides. Competing in the prestigious settings of the National Soccer Hall of Fame, the Long Island side were undefeated in their four games, and won by a margin of at least two goals in each contest;
Rochester Futbal Club 3-1
Lighthouse Hurricanes 3-1
East Hudson 7-1
Lighthouse Hurricanes 5-1 Finals
The coaching staff which included Pro Team Player Ricky Blanchard made the following comment;
"The team showed a tremedous attitude and work rate. There are some really talented kids on this soccer team and most importantly they are really enjoying themselves. Long Island should be very proud of these young soccer stars."
The Long Island Rough Riders Play Western Mass Pioneers this Wednesday and Mitchel Athletics Complex in Uniondale. Kick Off 7.30pm. Tickets Prices $10 - Over 18, $8 - Ages 5 -17, $6 - Groups of 12 or more.
