
Detroit Shock's Cheryl Ford Nominated For Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Award

Auburn Hills, MI - Detroit Shock forward Cheryl Ford already has two WNBA Championship rings, a WNBA Rookie of the Year Award and a WNBA All-Star Game MVP Award resting on her mantelpiece. On March 29, she might add a Favorite Female Athlete trophy and a healthy doss of green slime to her collection as part of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards.
Actor and musician Jack Black is hosting the star-studded telecast live from UCLA's Pauley Pavilion. Ford's competition in the Favorite Female Athlete category includes tennis stars Venus and Serena Williams and racecar driver Danica Patrick.
Jessica Alba, Drake Bell, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Johnny Depp, Cameron Diaz, Fergie, Keira Knightley, Eddie Murphy, Shaquille O'Neal, Josh Peck and Justin Timberlake also received nominations in Nickelodeon's 18 major awards categories.
Kids will be able to cast their vote online at http://www.nick.com/kca beginning Monday, March 3. Surprise awards also will be announced during the show. Kids also will be able to vote via the Nick mobile website (wap.nick.com). Beginning Monday-Friday, March 10-14, a different category will be featured on-air each day, and kids again vote for their favorite online at Nick.com.
The U.S. Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards show is seen in more than 205 million households across Nickelodeon's 34 channels in the U.K., Europe, Russia, Israel, Asia, Australia, Latin America and Brazil.
