THE SHOCK COULDN'T PULL THROUGH IN SACRAMENTO

The Detroit Shock fell to a season low on Sunday night loosing to the Sacramento Monarchs 51-91. Kara Braxton was the high scorer with 11, while Deanna Nolan racked up eight. "We have some issues that we have to solve. It comes from everybody on our team looking inside and coming to a conclusion on what we need to get done," said Detroit coach Bill Laimbeer, who held a 20-minute meeting with his team following the game.

SHOCK HAD TROUBLE WEATHERING THE STORM

In the final meeting this year between the last two league champions, the Seattle Storm outlasted the Detroit Shock 74-71 at KeyArena on Saturday. Deanna Nolan was strong throughout for the Shock, leading all scorers with 22 points, grabbing 7 rebounds and handing out 5 assists. Cheryl Ford pitched in 14 points, 15 rebounds, and a career-high tying 4 blocks.

SHOCK DIM SUN

Cheryl Ford posted a double-double Wednesday with 12 points and 12 rebounds as the Shock downed Taj McWilliams-Franklin and the Sun 66-57. Nolan finished with 14 points, shooting 2-of-6 from the field and 9-of-11 from the free throw line. Reserve guard Chandi Jones also had 14 points for Detroit, while Ruth Riley racked up 11.

SHOCK'S NOLAN AND FARRIS TAKE STEPS TO SUCCESS TO THE STREET

Detroit Shock two-time All-Star guard Deanna Nolan and Steps to Success veteran Barbara Farris will headline the teen forum at Methodist Children's Home on July 26 from 4 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. The audience will be made up of 200 teenagers from Methodist Children's Home and other Big Family of Michigan Associates. All participants will receive a Shock giveaway bag and Steps to Success t-shirt. Methodist Children's home is located at 26645 West Six Mile Road in Redford.

SHOCK TO HOST 4TH ANNUAL TIP A SHOCK

With a week off in the schedule, the Detroit Shock will take time to give back to the community. Shock players and coaches, along with surprise celebrity guests will be at Kalloway's Restaurant in Oxford on July 27 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. for the fourth annual "Tip a Shock" charity promotion to benefit the Michigan Chapter of the March of Dimes. All tips for the wait staff and proceeds from the raffle; silent auction, pictures and autographs will benefit the March of dimes. Kalloway's Restaurant is located at 595 North Lapeer Road, approximately 11 miles north of The Palace. Be sure to come out, and tip big!
