Buffalo Destroyers News Release

(BUFFALO, NY) - The Buffalo Destroyers will try and snap a two game losing streak when they meet Eastern Division rival the New York Dragons Saturday night at the HSBC Arena. Kickoff is set for 7:00PM.

Helping the Destroyers cause this week will be new acquisition WR/LB Bobby Olive. Olive played three seasons with the Destroyers and was waived from the team in the pre-season. Olive holds seven receiving records for the Destroyers, including most career receptions with 179.

"Bobby is a very good arena football player," said Destroyers head coach and general manager Ray Bentley. " He will make a great impact on our team."

"I'm anxious to get back on the field," said Olive. "I am sure that once I touch the football all the butterflies will go away."

In addition to Olive re-joining the team, the Destroyers have made other roster moves heading into their contest with the Dragons. QB Fred McNair will start the game. He missed last weeks 63-35 loss to San Jose with a hamstring injury. Also, OL/DL Eric Miller will be activated from the injured reserve list.

"It is hard to be out and not play,' said McNair. "I am looking forward to getting the ball into the guys hands and letting them work with it."

Saturday's contest marks the beginning of the second half of the season for both clubs. Buffalo enters the game with a 3-4 record while New York stands at 2-5.

"It is now a seven game season," said Bentley. "We're going back to basics, we have simplified the play sheet and we are going to out execute them."

Saturday's game will be on radio at WNSA 107.7FM and WJTN 1240AM. Single game and group tickets are still available. Call 881-4444.
