June 7, 2002 - The Chicago Rush announced today that it has signed kicker David Cool to a contract for the remainder of the 2002 season. Cool replaces kicker Bruce Reinecker who was waived earlier this week.
Cool (5-11, 200, Georgia Southern) was released by Orlando May 28 after spending the first four-plus years of his AFL career with the Predators.
Cool played in 52 career games for the Predators, scoring 427 points, including a last-second field goal to win ArenaBowl XIV for Orlando. He has converted on 265 of 313 extra-point attempts and 64 of 131 field goal attempts. His 457 career points currently ranks him 10th in AFL history in scoring by a kicker.
