
Dessau Pitches Grizzlies to Win

Erik Dessau (9-1) allowed one run on six hits over eight innings Tuesday night as the Grizzlies defeated the Florence Freedom 5-1 in front of 3,182 at GCS Ballpark.
The win gives Dessau a share of the league lead with nine. His 96 innings pitched are tops in the league.
The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Grizzlies (43-20).
The Grizzlies got home runs from Ryan Sullivan and Manny Paula. Sullivan's fourth home run of the year put the Grizzlies up 2-0. Paula's home run came in the seventh and made it 5-1.
Ryan Saltzgaber and Stephen Holdren each drove in runs with sacrifice flys. Saltzgaber was 2-3.
Mike Breyman was 3-4 with a double and two singles.
The crowd of 3,182 puts the Grizzlies within 1,070 fans of one million for their history.
The Grizzlies and the Freedom will wrap up the series with a 7:05 p.m. game Wednesday night at GCS Ballpark.
