Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY- The Yard Dawgz hosted the Lubbock Renegades for their final game of the 2007 regular season. Despite losing 76-69, the Yard Dawgz made it to the playoffs for the 4th consecutive season.
The Yard Dawgz opened the contest with a score on a 13 yard pass from QB Stan Hill to OS Jarrail Jackson. The Renegades then had 21 unanswered points to close out the 1st quarter to bring the score to 21-7 Lubbock.
The Yard Dawgz were the next to get on the board when QB Stan Hill snuck into the end zone early in the 2nd quarter. The Renegades and Yard Dawgz each scored twice more in the 2nd half to bring the score to 35-27, Lubbock, at halftime.
The Renegades received the ball to start the 3rd quarter and took advantage of the opportunity on a 2 yard pass to Jason Tezeno from QB Robert Kent. Oklahoma City's Jarrail Jackson returned the favor with a 31 yard run into the end zone. The Dawgz scored back-to-back touchdowns with a Larry Hayden fumble recovery in the end zone.
The teams continued to exchange scores over the next eight possessions with the game winning touchdown being scored with less than one minute remaining on the clock.
The Renegade defense proved to be too much for the Dawgz to handle as they were stopped on their last offensive series, resulting in the final score 76-69, Lubbock.
Despite the loss, Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz wide receiver Jarrail Jackson accounted for seven touchdowns, which included his 15th career kickoff return for a touchdown and the scoring of his 906th career point.
The Yard Dawgz head to Tulsa next weekend to take on the Talons for the first round of the playoffs. The two teams met earlier this season and after a hard-fought battle, the Talons won, 70-69.
