YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Mahoning Valley Thunder capped their 2007 Inaugural season with a 70-50 win over the Green Bay Blizzard in front of 3,762 fans at the Chevrolet Centre on Saturday night.

The Thunder (7-9) finished the year winners of three-straight home games while the loss for Green Bay (9-7) may lower their seed for the playoffs.

Tim Murphy scored from one yard out with 12:48 left in the game, giving the Thunder a 49-44 lead - their first advantage of the night. Mahoning Valley added late scores en route to the victory.

Mike Schneider was simply sensational in his final start of the year, completing an impressive 28-of-32 passes for 278 yards, six touchdowns and no interceptions. Schneider threw only four incomplete passes all game - and completed all six of his fourth quarter attempts.

Aside from Schneider's brilliant performance, the Thunder set a franchise record with 70 points in the game and Brandon "Tex" Eaton recorded his first career receiving touchdown in the second quarter.

Kenneth Johnson led the Thunder with a game-high 13 catches for 110 yards. Chris Johnson, Brian Majors and Sam Crenshaw each added receiving touchdowns in the win.

For the Blizzard, Zeke Dixon finished 18-of-30 for 274 yards and four touchdowns. Both Kellen Allen and Scott Burnoski recorded 100-yard receiving games, 108 and 111, respectively.
