Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Bulldogs left it all out on the ice Tuesday night, but came up a goal short in a 2-1 loss to the Ottawa 67's and now trail the 1st round playoff series 3-0.
Chances were hard to come by in the tight checking 1st period as Ottawa took a late 1-0 lead, outshooting the Bulldogs 9-4.
The Black and Gold seemed to find their stride in the 2nd, but it was the 67's who took a 2-0 lead on a power-play goal at 4:38. However, the never say die Bulldogs got a power-play goal of their own at 14:36 as Arthur Kaliyev (1) buried a nice pass from Matthew Strome at 14:36 to cut the deficit to 2-1.
Hamilton had some good zone time in the Ottawa end in the 3rd period but only managed four shots on goal. Despite pulling goaltender Zachary Roy and then getting a power play in the final minute, Ottawa held on to take the 2-1 win in Game 3.
3 STARS:
1) Noel Hoefenmayer (OTT) 2) Michael DiPietro (OTT) 3) Arthur Kaliyev (HAM)
The Bulldogs will have to fight to stay alive tomorrow night when they host Game 4 at FirstOntario Centre at 7pm.
