Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados continue their winning streak in the community with a visit to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children on Monday, March 19 at 10:00 a.m. as part of the team's annual Impact Player Program. Desperados Quarterback Clint Dolezel and WR Marcus Nash, will join members of the Dallas Desperados Dance Team in visiting the hospital's young patients this coming Monday. Desperados personnel are scheduled to stop by hospital clinics to sign autographs, distribute stickers and engage the children in conversation.

The visits are part of the Desperados Impact Player Program, which strives to be a positive influence in the lives of Dallas-area children. Initiated by Desperados head coach Will McClay in 2003, the Impact Player Program continues to spread positive influence and goodwill throughout Dallas-Fort Worth. The program includes weekly visits to local children's hospitals and after-school programs with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas.

"We welcome the opportunity to give back to the community that continues to support us," said McClay. "We acknowledge that the Desperados have a unique role to make a difference and we are devoted to working with a variety of charities, schools and civic groups in order to make a positive impact across the Metroplex."

Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children is one of the nation's leading pediatric centers for the treatment of orthopedic conditions, certain related neurological disorders and learning disorders, such as dyslexia. Since their inception in 1921, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children has provided care for more than 180,000 children. There is no charge to patient families for treatment, and admission is open to Texas children from birth to 18 years of age.
