Dallas Desperados News Release

The Dallas Desperados announced Wednesday the signing of wide receiver Willis Marshall. Marshall, a six-year Arena Football League veteran, joins the Desperados after spending the previous three seasons with the Colorado Crush. Marshall was a key contributor to the Rush's 2004 ArenaBowl Championship team. Prior to his arrival in Colorado, Marshall played three seasons with the Grand Rapids Rampage where he teamed with current Desperados quarterback Clint Dolezel to help the team take home the ArenaBowl XV Championship. In each of his six AFL seasons, Marshall's teams have reached the playoffs.

"To add a player of his caliber makes us a more dangerous team," Desperados Head Coach Will McClay said. "Willis brings championship experience and helps with our desire to have not only quality football players but quality character as well which makes us a stronger football team," McClay added.

In six seasons, Marshall was active on offense, defense and special teams. He has racked up 455 receptions for 5,053 yards and 71 touchdowns. He added 67 rushes for 137 yards and 19 touchdowns while also returning 217 kickoffs for 4,475 yards and five touchdowns.

On defense, he has amassed 175 tackles, 29 pass deflections, six forced fumbles and three interceptions.

The Desperados also added four players to their practice squad Wednesday. All four of the players spent time in the Desperados training camp this season.
