Kats Announce 2007 Roster

NASHVILLE- The Nashville Kats have set their roster for the 2007 season after the league-mandated roster size had to be no more than 24 active players on Monday, February 26.

The 2007 Kats are made up of 16 free agents, four traded players and one player claimed off of waivers. The Kats return, most notably, OL/DL James Baron who was named one of the AFL's 20 greatest players, QB Clint Stoerner who in 2006, helped the Kats set franchise records for touchdowns in a season (113), most passing yards in a season (3,847) and most total offense in a season (4,357 yards) and lineman Joe Minucci who led the Kats in sacks in 2005 and in 2006.

The Kats also added two-time ArenaBowl champion coach Lary Kuharich of whom Kuharich and head coach Pat Sperduto won titles with while members of the Tampa Bay Storm (1991 and 1993).

The Kats 2007 season is set to kick-off Thursday, March 1st when the club hosts the Columbus Destroyers. Nashville will compete in the AFL's Central Division, a talent-rich division that houses the past two ArenaBowl Champions (Chicago Rush 2006, Colorado Crush 2005) and added the Kansas City Brigade in a realignment change.
