Las Vegas Desert Dogs News Release
LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Rob Hellyer scored a game-high nine points, while Las Vegas held Rochester to just three second half goals as the Desert Dogs took out the Knighthawks 12-7 Saturday night.
On an emotional Tucker Out Lymphoma Night honoring Shawn Williams' son Tucker, who passed away from Burkitt's Lymphoma in 2014, the Dogs played on of their most complete games of the season. Landon Kells made 41 saves while allowing just seven goals, while Jack Hannah led the hosts with six goals.
A five-goal second quarter helped pace the Dogs in the early goings, as Vegas headed into the locker room up 6-4.
After Rochester opened the third quarter with a goal to cut the lead to one, Vegas responded with five of the next six goals to put the game out of reach.
Las Vegas is back on the road next weekend to face the Colorado Mammoth on Friday, March 31 in Denver. Faceoff at Ball Arena is slated for 6:00 p.m. PT.
