Pensacola Blue Wahoos News Release

Major Leaguer and former Blue Wahoo Michael Lorenzen will join Pensacola on a rehab assignment along with Anthony DeSclafani. Both are scheduled to pitch in tonight's game in Biloxi. DeSclafani is slated to pitch four innings and Lorenzen will follow with an inning. As with all rehab assignments, the plans are subject to change.

DeSclafani injured his oblique in Spring Training. He missed last season with a sprained ulnar collateral ligament, and missed a portion of the 2016 season with an oblique injury. The last time he pitched in a game was in 2016 when he made 20 starts and went 9-5 with a 3.28 ERA for the Reds.

Lorenzen was also injured in Spring Training and is recovering from a right shoulder strain. The former Wahoo pitched for Pensacola on his way up in 2013 and 2014. In parts of three seasons with the Reds, he is 14-14 with a 4.57 ERA. He has 211 strikeouts over 246.1 innings.
