Bakersfield - Bakersfield Blitz wide receiver/defensive back, DeRonn Finley will be a guest on tonight's weekly radio program, "The Indoor War Report with Head Coach Gary Compton" after receiving the league award for Ironman of the Week. "The Indoor War Report with Head Coach Gary Compton" will be broadcasted live on KGEO AM 1230 from Tailgater's Sports Bar and Grill, 900 Truxtun Ave, from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
"I wanted DeRonn on this team the moment I took this job," Coach Compton said. "He came with great recommendations so I pursued him highly. He is such a leader on the team for many reasons, one being that he can play many positions."
DeRonn Finley, who is entering his third season in the AF2, will be receiving the weekly league honor for the third time in his AF2 career. Finley finished Sunday's game against Spokane with 6 catches for 53 yards, two touchdowns, four tackles and one interception. The US Army Ironman of the Week award is an honor developed to highlight one player each week for their overall outstanding game performance.
The Blitz will continue their run for the championship on Saturday, April 15 when they face the Central Valley Coyotes in Central Valley. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m.
