Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER - The Denver Outlaws (4-4) host the Rochester Rattlers (5-3) Saturday in the Grateful Dead Showdown, which will feature Grateful Dead inspired uniforms, with faceoff set for at 7:30 p.m. MDT.
Rochester delivered a 15-12 loss to Denver earlier this season as league leading scorer Jordan Wolf scored a hat trick and two assists. Michael Bocklet led the Outlaws with a career high four goals and five points in the loss.
Denver is coming off two straight losses to Ohio and Chesapeake. Two weeks ago, Bocklet led the Outlaws again against the Machine with another four-goal game. John Grant, Jr. also had four points in the matchup. Chris Bocklet and Drew Snider each recorded a hat trick and an assist during the loss to the Bayhawks. Jeremy Sieverts tallied his first two-point goal of the season at Chesapeake in a four-point performance.
Despite Denver's recent struggles, Head Coach B.J. O'Hara is confident in his team.
"We had plenty of chances to win that game [at Chesapeake], even as bad as it felt at halftime," he said. "We did a great job getting ourselves back in at both ends of the field, so we're going to try to build off that second half and see if we can carry that into this game versus an awfully good Rochester team."
The Outlaws will face a Rochester defense that is coming off of a dominant game over Boston. John Galloway and the Rattlers held the Cannons to just six goals while Galloway made 15 saves in the victory.
After winning less than 50 percent of the faceoffs at Rochester, Anthony Kelly has been consistent at the X, winning 60.3 percent this season. He won more than 55 percent of the faceoffs in each of the past two losses.
The Outlaws goalkeepers will be tested by the accurate Rochester offense. The Rattlers lead the league in shot on goal percentage, landing nearly 70 percent of their shots on the cage.
The power-play will feature the top teams in percentage and penalty kill. The Outlaws have converted a league-leading 40 percent of their power-play opportunities, while Rochester has been tough on man-down defense, defending the power-play 78.26 percent of the time.
Tune in to Altitude TV or ESPN3 Saturday to see the Outlaws take on the Rattlers at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. MDT.
