Denver Outlaws vs. New York Lizards Game Preview

DENVER - The Denver Outlaws (6-7) will battle to finish their season at .500 as they take on the New York Lizards (10-3) at Sports Authority Field at Mile High on Saturday at 3 p.m. MDT.
The final game of the 2015 season will be recognized as the Outlaws' Fan Appreciation Game. The team will honor the fans and former defenseman Lee Zink (2004-14), whose jersey will be retired during the game.
In Week 14 the Outlaws showed off their stellar offense with record-tying performances by brothers Mike Bocklet and Chris Bocklet in the team's 20-14 victory over the Florida Launch. Mike was named Warrior Offensive Player of the Week for his 10-point, five-goal and five-assist performance against the Launch.
Mike's 10 points and five assists tied the Outlaws franchise record and are the most by an Outlaw this season. Chris set a career high with seven goals, three of which were assisted by Mike. Seven goals tied the franchise record, and it was the second time this season that an Outlaw has scored seven in a game.
The Outlaws defense also stepped up against a formidable Florida attack unit. The Denver D led by Coca-Cola Player of the Game Dillon Roy held Florida's Miles Thompson, Lyle Thompson and Kieran McArdle to a total of six goals and three assists, with play in the goal from both Jesse Schwartzman and Dillon Ward. Matt Bocklet also set a record with his play against Florida, picking up nine ground balls in the victory for a single season record of 74, which bested his previous record of 72 ground balls in 2013 and was just four shy of the Outlaws' single-season record.
Denver will need similar performances on both sides of the field as they face the league-leading Lizards. New York features leading scorer Rob Pannell as well as goalkeeper Drew Adams, who holds the league's best goals against average in 2015. The Lizards have found success on offense on defense, leading the league in goals forced and goals against, although they have given up a league worst 15 two-point goals.
