Denver Outlaws to Open 2018 Season on Saturday in New York

DENVER - The Denver Outlaws will begin the 2018 season on Saturday as they travel to take on the New York Lizards (5 p.m. MDT) in Hempstead, N.Y., in their first of two road contests to open the year.
Denver is 9-3 all-time in season-openers and 4-2 when beginning the season on the road. Saturday marks the first time the Outlaws and Lizards will face each other in the first game of the season.
The Outlaws return six of their seven leading scorers from the 2017 season, including Eric Law, Matt Kavanagh, Jeremy Sieverts, Zach Currier, Wes Berg and Drew Snider. MLL All-Star defensemen Matt Bocklet and Michael Simon and defending MLL Goalie of the Year Jack Goalie return to bolster a defense that allowed the third-fewest goals in MLL in 2017.
The Outlaws lead the all-time series against the Lizards 21-5 and have won four consecutive games against New York, dating back to June 3, 2016.
