Denver Outlaws News Release
DENVER - The Denver Outlaws dropped a 16-7 decision to the Florida Launch on Sunday in Boca Raton, Fla. The game marked the Outlaws' second of the weekend after they defeated the New York Lizards 16-12 on Friday night in Denver.
Midfielder Jeremy Sieverts and attackman Shawn Evans each scored two goals apiece and midfielder Tom Kelly won 62.9 percent (17-of-27) of faceoffs. Goalie Jack Kelly stopped 25-of-41 shots in the losing effort.
Attackmen Matt Kavanagh and Eric Law, who entered the game leading the Outlaws with 19 and 13 points on the season, respectively, were both held without a goal on Sunday.
For the second consecutive game, Jack Kelly kept the Outlaws within striking distance while the offense struggled in the opening two quarters. Denver scored its fewest goals in a half this season and were trailing 7-3 at the halftime break.
Denver opened the second half with a 4-1 scoring run to draw within one of Florida, but the Launch would answer with an 8-0 run that spanned the final 21:36 of the game.
The Outlaws (1-3) will look to bounce back when they return home to host the Chesapeake Bayhawks (1-2) on Sunday, May 13, at 3 p.m. MDT.
