Denver Cutthroats Net Two Hat Tricks

October 31, 2013 - Central Hockey League (CHL) - Denver Cutthroats News Release

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats faced the Brampton Beast for the first time in franchise history on Wednesday, October 30. Denver's Garett Bembridge and Vincent Arseneau each finished the night with a hat trick to tame the Beast 7-3.

Denver's Vincent Arseneau was the first of the night to score with assistance from J.P. Chabot and T.J. Fox to put the Cutthroats up 1-0 over the Beast. With a slap shot from Bembridge (Aaron MacKenzie, A.J. Gale) the puck snuck its way past Brampton's Kristofer Westblom with less than three minutes remaining in the period. Just moments later the Beast added their first point to the board for the night, with Brett Smith making it only a one-point difference to close the opening period 2-1 Denver.

Troy Schwab (Bembridge, Steve Kaunisto) made his only goal of the night during the Cutthroats power play to continue Denver's lead 3-1. The Beast cut the deficit by one with a goal from Josh McQuade (Tyler Butler, Calin Wild). The Denver Cutthroats didn't let the Beast's netted puck go unanswered as they came back with four consecutive goals. Bembridge (Sean Zimmerman, Gale) started the run, as Arseneau (Kaunisto, Chabot) furthered the Cutthroats lead 5-2. With his third goal of the night and first hat trick of the season, Garrett Bembridge (Gale, Michael Trebish) gave the Cutthroats a four-goal lead to close out the second period 6-2.

The Cutthroats furthered the lead as Vincent Arseneau (Matt Glasser, Kaunisto) found the back of the Beast's net to score his first hat trick of the season. The Beast scored one final goal from Brett Smith (Rob Collins, Erik Spady) to close out the night 7-3 Cutthroats. The Denver Cutthroats have now matched the team's longest winning streak in franchise history, set on December 1 through December 11, 2012. The team looks to surpass the record on the road this weekend.

The Denver Cutthroats hit the road for a five-game series, which includes three games on three consecutive nights in three different cities. They return to the Denver Coliseum on Tuesday, November 12 to play the Arizona Sundogs. Puck drops at 7:00 PM. For ticket information, call 866.464.2626 or visit DenverCutthroats.com.
