
Dennis Returns to Dragons

In a trade with Kansas City, the New York Dragons acquire DB DaShane Dennis in exchange for DL Vontrell Jamison who was activated from the Dragons injured reserve list this week. Dennis now returns to the Dragons, where he spent the 2005 and 2006 seasons. In addition, WR Kevin Swayne was placed on the injured reserve.
Dennis (5-10, 175), now in his fourth AFL season, started the 2007 season with Kansas City where he recorded 33.5 total tackles, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In two seasons with the Dragons (2005/2006), Dennis recorded 125 total tackles, 16 pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and eight interceptions for 87 yards and two touchdowns. On offense, he recorded 33 receptions for 344 yards and seven touchdowns. He also recorded 44 returns for 885 yards and three touchdowns. He spent his rookie season with Philadelphia in 2004.
Swayne was placed on the injured reserve list after straining his hamstring in Week Six's matchup at Grand Rapids. As per the 2007 AFL rule change, Swayne must remain on the injured reserve for a minimum of four weeks.
