Storm Sign Receiver Huey Whittaker To Practice Squad

TAMPA BAY - The five-time world champion Tampa Bay Storm have signed wide receiver Huey Whitaker to the practice squad, activated offensive lineman Dwayne Morgan from injured reserve, placed defensive back Rod Williams on injured reserve and re-signed receiver/defensive back T.T. Toliver, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today.

Whittaker, a 6-foot-5, 235-pound receiver, is a local product from the University of South Florida. He spent 2006 on the Storm practice squad prior to the team activating him for the season finale against the Nashville Kats. Whittaker spent the first four weeks of the 2007 season on the injured reserve prior to his release. His return adds depth to the wide receiver and linebacker corps.

Morgan, a 6-4, 300-pound lineman out of Clemson University appeared in the first two games of the season. He suffered a knee injury in practice prior to the game against the Georgia Force. He is expected to return to the starting lineup this Saturday against the Orlando Predators.

Jones, a 5-11, 180-pound defensive back, injured his right hamstring Saturday, April 7 against the New Orleans VooDoo. He will miss at least four weeks of action.

Toliver, a 5-11, 190-poud receiver/defensive back, leads the Storm in receptions (49) and receiving yards (599). He restructured his contract.
