Dengler, Otieno Named to USL League One Team of the Week

STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC defender Jake Dengler and midfielder Tobias Otieno were named to USL League One's Team of the Week for Week 23 of the 2022 regular season. For a second consecutive week, Dengler is named to League One's team of the week after obtaining a second consecutive clean sheet. Otieno's presence in the midfield once again proved to be the difference maker offensively and defensively.

Dengler's defensive presence towered over the Independence's offensive unit and helped South Georgia get its second consecutive clean sheet. Dengler racked up the most clearances across the week with nine.

Otieno found his second consecutive assist after assisting Kingsford Adjei's match-winner. Otieno led the assists charts this month for South Georgia. Otieno reeled in 12 recoveries and won 100% of his aerial duels.

Tormenta FC travels to Richmond, Virginia, to take on the Richmond Kickers on Wednesday, Sept. 7, at City Stadium, at 6:30 p.m. ET.
