Delmarva's Exhibition with Salisbury University Canceled
April 5, 2016 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Delmarva Shorebirds News Release
SALISBURY, Md. - Due to frigid temperatures and a concern for player safety, Tuesday's exhibition between the Delmarva Shorebirds and the Salisbury University Sea Gulls has been canceled. The game will not be made up.
"With the Shorebirds about to begin their season and Salisbury University in the middle of theirs, we would not want to play this game in conditions that could jeopardize player safety and negatively impact either team," Shorebirds general manager Chris Bitters said. "We know this game is highly anticipated every spring, but all parties involved feel common sense suggests that we cancel tonight's exhibition."
Fans who have purchased tickets to tonight's game may exchange them for any 2016 home game based on availability. Complimentary tickets that were received as a part of a 2016 ticket package or otherwise are not eligible to be exchanged.
The Shorebirds will begin the 2016 regular season on Thursday, April 7 in Hagerstown against the Suns. The team's 2016 home opener is scheduled for Thursday, April 14 at 7:05 p.m.
