
Defenseman Matt McArdle Transferred to Rio Grande Valley

MUSKEGON, Michigan (January 9th) - The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced a transfer in which they have sent Defenseman Matt McArdle to the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) and have made additional roster moves in correspondence to the transfer of McArdle.
McArdle, the Annapolis, Maryland native, was in his first season in the USHL appearing in 26 games with the Lumberjacks recording a goal and an assist to go along with a plus-two rating. Previously, McArdle was attained by Muskegon in trade with the Dubuque Fighting Saints back in September of 2013.
Prior to playing in the USHL, McArdle spent four seasons with the Shattuck St. Mary's (Minnesota) hockey program from 2009-13 accumulating 98 points (21 goals and 77 assists) in 216 games played.
In addition, the Lumberjacks have made a pair of roster moves as they have moved affiliate Defenseman Joseph Cecconi to the active roster for the remainder of the season. Cecconi, the Youngstown, New York native, has already appeared in one game for Muskegon this season back on December 29th at home against the Youngstown Phantoms in which he laced his first career USHL goal on the power play in a 5-3 victory.
This season, Cecconi played for the Buffalo Junior Sabres Midget Minor (Under-16) Team totaling 41 points (18 goals and 23 assists) in 43 games played.
Lastly, affiliate Forward Jacob Coleman will make his USHL debut with the Lumberjacks during tomorrow night's game in Youngstown and play in the one game this weekend. Coleman, the Moon Township, Pennsylvania native, was drafted by the Lumberjacks in the third-round (38th overall) during the 2013 USHL Phase One Draft and has spent this season with the Pittsburgh Penguins Midget Major Team totaling 19 points (6 goals and 13 assists) in 26 games played.
The Lumberjacks continue their season-long eight-game road trip with a pair of games this weekend against the Youngstown Phantoms tomorrow and Indiana Ice on Saturday at 7:05 pm, respectively.
The next pair of home games for the Lumberjacks will be on Friday, January 24th and Saturday, January 25th against the U.S. National Development Program at 7:15 pm, respectively. Friday's game against the Under-17 Team will feature the second and final trading card giveaway of the season along with the return of our "Jacks Win You Win" promotion. If the Lumberjacks win on Friday, every fan in attendance will receive a $5 Sport Clips gift card.
Saturday's game against the Under-18 Team will feature our annual "Jacks Fight Cancer" Game presented by Mercy Health Partners. Fans can contribute to the event in numerous ways in which proceeds will be donated to the Johnson Family Cancer Center, and more information can be found on the Lumberjacks' Facebook page by searching "Muskegon Lumberjacks." Additionally, our "Subway Saturday" promotion returns, where if the Lumberjacks win on Saturday, fans that attend the game can present their ticket stubs at any participating West Michigan Subway location for a buy one six-inch sub, get another six-inch sub of equal or lesser value for free.
Individual game tickets will be on sale for the next pair of home games over the next few weeks for the low price of $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-12 if they are purchased before the day of the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Lumberjacks' Box Office or by calling (231) 724-5225.
