Quad City Mallards News Release

MOLINE, Ill. (October 28, 2011) - The Quad City Mallards of the "AA" Central Hockey League today announced that defenseman Karl Linden has arrived in the Quad Cities and that blue liner Jeff Moor has been waived.

Linden, a 25-year old native of native of Sundbyberg, Sweden, signed with the Mallards over the summer and has now touched down after completing the immigration process. The 6' 0", 180-pound Linden is not, however, a stranger to these shores. He finished a standout four-year career at Division III Elmira College in the spring. Linden was named to the 2010-11 All-ECAC West Second Team after scoring six goals and totaling 20 points in 26 games as a senior.

"Karl can skate and is a heads-up player," said Mallards Head Coach and General Manager David Bell. "He also has a great attitude and a lot of drive, so we're happy he's joined us."

Linden scored 19 goals and produced 79 points in 103 career collegiate games while helping the Soaring Eagles to NCAA tournament berths each of his first three years at Elmira. In 2008-09, Linden, then a sophomore, was named to both the Division III All-America East Second Team and the All-ECAC West First Team. His freshman season saw Linden earn ECAC All-Rookie honors.

Before arriving in Elmira, Linden spent one season- the 2006-07 campaign- with the Bradford Rattlers of Ontario's Greater Metropolitan Junior Hockey League.

Moor, 25, played in the Mallards' season opening loss to Rapid City last Saturday without recording a point.
