Defenseman Ben Blood Reassigned to B-Sens

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that defenseman Ben Blood has been reassigned to Binghamton from the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL by the club's National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators.

Blood, 23, is a plus-two through two games with the Jackals so far this season.

A native of Plymouth, Minn., Blood completed his fourth and final season of college eligibility in 2011-12 with the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux. He played in 42 games recording three goals, 18 assists and 73 penalty minutes.

In four seasons with the Fighting Sioux, Blood recorded 48 points (10 goals, 38 assists), while registering 229 penalty minutes in 160 games.

The 6-3, 232-pound defenseman also appeared in four games with the B-Sens last season

The Jackals see action again Friday as they host the Wheeling Nailers at 7:05 p.m.

The B-Sens travel to Rochester tomorrow to face the Amerks at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 15 minutes before game time as Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens, hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.
