
B-Sens Sign Goaltender Ben Bishop

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that the club has signed goaltender Ben Bishop to an American Hockey League contract.
Bishop, 25, appeared in three games for the B-Sens last season after he was acquired by their National Hockey League affiliate Ottawa Senators from the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 26. In those three games Bishop posted a 2-1-0 record with a 2.35 goals-against average.
Prior to the trade, he had spent the 2011-12 season with the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues' AHL affiliate, where he posted a record of 24-14-0 in 38 games, including a league-leading six shutouts.
The 6-7, 215-pound native of Denver was named 2012 AHL All-Star Classic most valuable player after stopping 10 of 11 shots in the third period to help lead the Western Conference to an 8-7 shootout victory. He was also named Reebok top goaltender during the All-Star Classic's skills competition.
Bishop has appeared in 162 career AHL games with Binghamton and Peoria, posting an 83-65-8 record with nine shutouts, a 2.59 goals-against average and .911 save percentage.
The B-Sens travel to Rochester to face the Amerks tomorrow at 7:05 p.m. Fans can listen live on "Binghamton's Classic Hits" BIG 107.5 (WBBI-FM) beginning 15 minutes before game time as Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens, hosts the Countdown to Faceoff.
