
Debra Maier Named MWL Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year

Cedar Rapids, IA - Debra Maier, Director of Food and Beverage for the Cedar Rapids Kernels, has been named the MWL Rawlings Woman Executive of the Year. The award is presented by the MWL to a woman who has made outstanding contributions to her club, her league or to baseball.
Maier is the fifth woman from the Cedar Rapids organization to win the award. The others are Bea Buchheister (1989), Nancy Cram (1994), Jessica Fergesen (2007) and Andrea Brommelkamp (2008).
The Midwest League submits the winners of four post-season awards: John Henry Moss Community Service, John H. Johnson President's Award, Larry MacPhail Promotional Award, and Rawlings Women Executive of the Year Award, to Minor League Baseball. The winners from each MiLB league are eligible for the national awards, presented at the Baseball Winter Meetings in December. The Kernels won the national John H. Johnson President's Award in 2008.
The 2013 Baseball Winter Meetings will be held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, FL, December 9-12.
2014 Kernels season ticket packages are on sale now at the stadium by calling the Kernels at (319) 363-3887. Individual game tickets go on sale Monday, March 10th at 10 am. The Kernels open the 2014 MWL season at home at 6:35 pm against Clinton on Thursday, April 3rd.
