Dazzle Returns Home After Month-Long Road Trip

Roanoke, Va., January 23 - The Roanoke Dazzle return home to make their first appearance of 2006 at the Roanoke Civic Center this Friday and Saturday with both games starting at 7:00 p.m. The Dazzle will take on the Fayetteville Patriots in a pair of games that feature new team members D'or Fischer and former Virginia Tech standout Bryant Matthews.
To welcome the Dazzle home, Roanoke Mayor Nelson Harris along with the Roanoke City Council proclaimed the week January 23rd through January 29th as "Dazzle Blue & Gold Week." All fans wearing blue and gold to the games this weekend will receive two-for-one admission.
To kick off the festivities for "Dazzle Blue & Gold Week," team members, coaches and front office staff will make five special appearances over the next two days and seven appearances total over the course of the week.
Today's appearances include Dazzle President Dennis Robarge and Head Coach Kent Davison visiting the Salem City Council meeting and Dazzle players bringing the post-game beverages to a rec. league basketball game tonight at Jackson Middle School.
Then tomorrow, Coach Davison will attend Montvale Elementary School's "Career Day", Dazzle mascot "Dazz" will appear at the Nextel store and team members will take in the Cave Spring vs. Salem boys High School Basketball game.
Starting today is the Krispy Kreme "Dazzle Donut" promotion where fans can stop by the Krispy Kreme store and purchase special blue and gold sprinkled donuts. With the purchase of these special donuts, fans will receive a coupon good for two-for-one admission to the games this weekend.
Also kicking off this week is the Roanoke Dazzle and 106.1 Jammin' WJJS's, "Where's Dazz?" contest. On Friday, Dazzle mascot Dazz will be hidden somewhere in Roanoke. Rich Minor will provide clues on Friday morning as to the whereabouts of Dazz's location. The winning fan who finds Dazz will win a great prize pack from the Dazzle and WJJS valued at over $500.
On Friday Night, the Dazzle have teamed up with Cox Communications to give one lucky fan the chance to walk away with $10,000. Five contestants will be chosen by random drawing of all fans in attendance to participate in an on-court skills contest to win the money. Tip-off for the game is slated for 7:00 p.m.
Then on Saturday the Dazzle present "Beach Night" where the first 1000 fans through the gates will receive a Dazzle Beach towel courtesy of Liberty Tax Service, Ameriprise Financial, Hot Tub Heaven, Valley Metro & the Smart Way Bus, ACME Business Machines, Shenandoah Life Insurance and Carilion. The Dazzle will also be giving away a great beach getaway for two at the game. This game starts at 7:00 p.m. with the gates opening up at 6:00 p.m.
