
Dazzle Overcomes Flight in Overtime 109-102

ROANOKE, Va., Feb. 27âMarque Perry breaks the NBDL season scoring record with 40 points to help the Roanoke Dazzle defeat the Huntsville Flight in a 109-102 overtime win Saturday Afternoon at the Roanoke Civic Center.
The second half was a close battle with nine ties and ten lead changes. Marque Perry missed a lay-up with 1.7 seconds left in regulation to send the game into overtime.
The Dazzle came out strong in overtime. Perry hit a jumper with 2:56 left to give the Dazzle a 100-97 lead. Josh Asselin grabbed the rebound on a Erick Barkley miss and hit a twenty footer to seal the game for Roanoke.
"We struggled in the beginning, but we hung in there and never gave up," said Roanoke Dazzle head coach Kent Davison. "This was a good win for us."
Perry also broke the record for most points ever scored by a Dazzle player in a single game. Mikki Moore had a double-double with 22 points and 10 rebounds. Terrence Shannon and George Williams were also in double figures with 14 and 13, respectively.
Huntsville was led by Phil Ricci with 28 points. Erick Barkley added 20 and Manteen Cleaves had 19.
The Dazzle (18-14) are in action again on Friday, March 5 when they travel to Columbus to take on the Riverdragons at 7:00 p.m. The Flight plays again Tuesday, when it faces the Fayetteville Patriots in Huntsville at 11:00 a.m.
