Dayton Gems Welcome Kroger as Corporate Partner, Introduce Ticket Promotion

Dayton, Ohio - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team, proud member of the Central Hockey League, is excited to announce the addition of Kroger as an official corporate partner, and the unveiling of an innovative ticket promotion.

Unveiled to the public on Thursday, Kroger will be the presenting sponsor of the new "Two for Tuesday" ticket promotion, where fans can receive 2 Adult Corner Tickets for the Price of 1 by simply showing their Kroger Plus Card at the Hara Arena Box Office on the day of the game. Corner tickets are regularly priced at $12, and this promotion will be limited to the first 250 fans each Tuesday home game.

"Kroger is proud to support the Dayton community and our partnership with the Dayton Gems is another added value," said Rachael Betzler, Public Relations Manager of the Kroger's Cincinnati/Dayton Division. "Customers are looking for ways to stretch every dollar they have, "Betzler continued, "Kroger can offer just that with the Two for Tuesdays discount offer."

Also new this season, Tuesday home games will have an earlier start time of 6:30 pm, with doors opening at 5:30 pm. Elaborating on the change, Gems team president Joe Greene noted "the feedback that we received from many fans last season told us that parents didn't feel comfortable bringing their kids to games that weren't getting over until close to 10 pm on a school night. Families are a huge part of Gems hockey, so we've introduced the earlier start time on Tuesday's in order to get the kids back home for a full night's rest with school the next day. Hopefully families will respond to the earlier start time and support our players no matter the day of the week."

Tuesday games will once again feature Gems Trading Card Set Giveaways, back by popular demand. The first 1,000 fans into the arena will receive a complimentary set of trading cards, featuring anywhere from 5-7 players each night. After the game, these featured players will be available to autograph the cards for fans.

The Dayton Gems opening night is set for Saturday, November 5 at 7pm. Single Game Tickets are on sale now at the Hara Arena box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
