Quad City's Eric Giosa Leads ‘Oakley Three Stars' for October

GLENDALE, AZ (November 3, 2011) -Quad City Mallards forward Eric Giosa, Tulsa Oilers goaltender Ian Keserich and Missouri Mavericks goaltender Charlie Effinger have been named the ‚¬ËœOakley Three Stars ‚¬Ëœ for the month of October/2011.

For winning the ‚¬ËœOakley Three Star Player of the Month' for October, Giosa will receive a special gift from Oakley. Learn more about Oakley's products at www.oakley.com.

Players are awarded five points for first star recognition, three points for a second star nod and a single point for being named the third star of the game. Keep up with the season-long standings and quest to be the Oakley Three Star Player of the Year at www.centralhockeyleague.com.

First Star - Eric Giosa, F, Quad City Mallards

Giosa finished the month with three goals and one assist in three games. He was named the first star in each of the Mallards wins (10 points) and earned the game winning goal in each contest. Earlier this week, the Northville, Michigan native was named the Oakley CHL Player of the Week.

Second Star - Ian Keserich, G, Tulsa Oilers

Keserich earned eight points in the three stars rakings earning one first star and one second star honor. The Cleveland, Ohio native has been in net for every minute of the Oilers season thus far carrying a 3-2-0 record, a .929 save percentage and a 2.40 goals against average. Keserich's first star nod came after a 34-save shutout performance in Texas on Oct. 22.

Third Star - Charlie Effinger, G, Missouri Mavericks

Effinger is unbeaten at 4-0 on the season and was just named the Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month for October. The Belleville, Illinois native has been recognized as a star in three of the four games he has played in and in any game has yet to give up more than two goals. Effinger earned seven points during the month with two second star recognitions and one third star honor.
